The First Day is the Toughest

Oh my god. The first day of classes is finally (almost) over. I'll tell you right now that I must have gotten soft from the month off from college. I'm so tired right now, so you can imagine how hard it is to listen to someone talk about Plates and Aristocrats (do you see what I did there? As in Plato and Aristotle.) without falling over sideways and kissing reality goodbye.

Justin and I woke up at Way Too Early o' Clock. We got ready and headed over to the dining hall for what we affectionately refer to as nom noms. Then, at 11 we made our way to C++ class. Big surprise, but it's in the same building and the same room as the last programming class we had. Oh, and it also has THE SAME TEACHER. Whoopee. After getting our syllabus and finding out that we needed to install a different version of the last program that we used to run code in the last class, which will take forever, we left to go meet up with some friends.

Our next class would start about an hour later. We make our way to the building, which was the same as the last class. Walking up to the paper in the lobby of that building which tells where each class is, we scan to find our class. To my astonishment, IT'S IN THE SAME ROOM AS THE LAST CLASS. Nevertheless, I feel as though I'll come out of those classes with more than I went in with.

After that, we didn't have another class until 6:30. We went to Mack and Dave's to look for an electronic drumset. They didn't carry them, but could order one for as low as $500, so as of now, it remains a viable option.

After we hung with our peeps for a minute, Justin and I went to our last class, which was Ancient Philosophy. By this point, I was dog tired. I mean DEAD dog tired. I have no clue why, but I somehow went from being able to stay up for days to needing sleep every 6 hours in a single day. epic sigh. This fact was compounded by the fact that the Philosophy class is two and a half hours long. I began writing this post during the last bit of Philosophy, as you might have been able to guess from the beginning paragraph, but I'm finishing it this morning. Sorry, I was way too tired.

After that, we just spent rest of the day seeing people we hadn't seen in a while, getting to know people, that sort of thing. The day was tiring, and not very eventful. Everywhere, people were running around like it was their first day of classes, which is understandable since some of them had just moved in. Hectic and draining, the day nevertheless went by smoothly. Now, if I can just make it through Calculus tonight...
